Kids Dreams Do Come True!

This year we have decided to expand our efforts to help the kids at the Harbor UCLA Medical Center.

We recently learned that the Make A Wish Foundation was unable to fulfill all of the requests of our kids.

So, with this in mind, we decided to start our own version of the Make A Wish Foundation. We have now created the "Kids Dreams Do Come True" Charity to help make the kids' dreams a reality.

Last year, a portion of the funds raised by the Steve Harris Memorial Charity were used to build an Infusion Center at Harbor UCLA for children currently being treated for cancers and blood disorders. As part of their treatment, many patients require frequent transfusions of blood products, as well as administration of chemotherapies and other medications, which can take up to several hours. The infusion Center is a special place where children can come to receive these treatments. It is a colorful and cheerful environment equipped with comfortable infusion chairs for the children to rest in while receiving their treatments, portable television and video game consoles for them to watch and play with, nursing staff specially trained in providing cancer treatments and therapies, and a lounge area for parents and family members to wait in. We hope that this addition to the Pediatric Clinic at Harbor UCLA Medical Center will provide a more comfortable environment for patients to come to for the treatments they need in these difficult times.
